How Important Is It to Show Up on Page One of Google
When marketing your blog or website, you’ll hear about getting into the Google search results. More specifically, you’ll hear about why you need to get onto the front page of Google search results. Is this really that important and do you need a PPC (pay per click) campaign to get there?
People Don’t Look Past Page One
Quite honestly, it’s essential to get onto page one if you want a highly successful business. The majority of people will not look past the first page of results. Some people are willing to go to pages two or three, but not everyone. If you’re on a later page, you will find it much harder to get customers or viewers to your site.
This isn’t the end of the world. There are other ways people will search for business, but Google results do still play a major role in getting customers and an audience.
Page One Isn’t the Only Goal You Should Have
Getting onto the first page isn’t necessarily going to increase your views. It’s all about getting that number one spot. You want to be at the top of the fold (the section before people have to start scrolling). People put more trust in the websites that Google ranks at the top.
Being at the top organically is often better, but you can opt for a PPC campaign. This is an ad campaign that will put you above everyone else. Your link will state that it’s an ad, but your website is at the very top based on keywords used. This certainly increases the chance of gaining customers.
Getting your website on page one of Google is essential for good results. However, it’s not the end. You want to get in the top spot.
